Team-coach

Having a team function well is not straightforward. A powerful team has team members who often differ in character, competences and needs. This is what ogten leads to a clash. The result can be that disagreements escalate or avoided completely. A telling sign is if a team talks more about each other than with each other.

Teamcoaching for me is always tailor-made. Depending on the stage of development, a team may for instance need guidance on effective feedback, dealing with emotions, and non-verbal interaction analysis. Non-verbal interaction analysis is an advanced tool, which uses video recordings to gain insight into the (non-verbal) interactions in a team.

Results

The result of teamcoaching is often dependent on the questions and need. In any case, team members get insights in their own roles and responsibility for desired changes in the team

Specifically, there will be agreements on how team members want to interact with each other and their environment with possible action plans at team and individual level.

With the changes, team members will experience more enjoyment and satisfaction in their work.

Family businesses

Management teams of family businesses are a special kind of team. After all, they have a family relationship in addition to the business relationship. So how do you make sure that in such a team, you do what is good business wise, without damaging the personal relationship. In practice, I often see that disagreements in family businesses are avoided, to prevent the creation of impossible situations. However, that very avoidance can create tension. It often happens that "that difficult conversation" is only held in my presence because it feels safer, and the risk of irreversible escalation is lower. In that case, I often have more of a role as a neutral moderator.
